These high-performance compatible filter cartridges offer a 5 micron rating coconut shell carbon block with a 3,000 gallons high-capacity for chlorine taste and odor reduction. They are applicable for 7-75 PSI water pressure and a maximum operating temperature of 104°F. The advanced multi-stage filtration utilizes materials and components that are food-grade.

The filter cartridges are available in two types - HG and HGN. Your machine is compatible with "HG" or regular filters if the filter base/tray/nipple has a completely round center hole, and with "HG-N" filters if the filter base/tray/nipple has 2 indents/notches in the center hole. Ensure that you order the right filter type for your machine.

Carbon Block Filters are a better choice compared to Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) filters. Activated carbon is a form of carbon processed to increase the porosity of individual granules, resulting in a large surface area for adsorption. Carbon blocks are produced by grinding the activated carbon into a finer mesh, 7 to 19 times smaller than GAC. This makes carbon block filters stronger and prevents the channeling effect that can occur in GAC filters.

Carbon block filters remove more contaminants than GAC filters due to their larger surface area and uniform pore structure. They can more effectively remove chlorine, eliminate undesirable odors, and reduce volatile organic chemicals and other contaminants. GAC filters have a lower contaminant removal ratio and are more susceptible to channeling.

Carbon block filters are rated by the size of particles they can remove, measured in microns, generally ranging from 20 microns (least effective) to 0.5 microns (most effective). Most 0.5 micron nominally rated carbon block filters are effective in cyst and asbestos reduction. GAC filters cannot be measured by micron pore size due to their granular state.

They release minimal carbon fines when first installed and have a static composition, unlike GAC filters that release carbon fines in the first few gallons of water. Carbon block filters are compatible with most A2O Water, Enagic, and Toyo water ionizers.

The HG type filters are compatible with Ionizer Machines such as IE 300, 400, 500, 900, Leveluk SD 501, MX 55, 99, and VENUS Protec. The HGN type filters are compatible with Leveluk SD 501, Leveluk JR II, and K8 Ionizer Machines.
